There are so many people in this world that deserve to be noticed for a job well done, and Chadwick Boseman is one of those people.
The reason for this blog post is to share how Boseman is just one example of how someone can embody the tenets of ACP Coaching. Most people will recognize Boseman as King T’Challa in Black Panther. Like many of us, my daughter loved the movie and loved Boseman for making the character come to life. However, many people had their love of this actor deepen by his passing, especially after hearing the circumstances of it and his life surrounding his movie.
ACP Coaching was founded on ACTION, COURAGE, AND PURPOSE. I truly believe we are all here to serve a single purpose that is meant for us alone. Some people will take an entire lifetime searching for their purpose and find it late in life, or never find it at all. Other individuals are fortunate enough to find their purpose and become amazing at it!
When it comes to purpose, some find it as health care workers such as doctors or nurses, some fine it in music or helping others find their sound, some individuals are meant to be great by breaking records and barriers in sports, and for a few purpose is found in the arts with their drawings, painting and acting.
Boseman was amongst the lucky few that have found their passion and purpose for being in this world, and is an example of the belief I hold when it comes purpose. See in his own words during a 2018 commence speech at Howard university. When we are living our purpose it is just a little easier to find the courage to fight. Fight through the downs, to fight through the hard work, to fight when it just doesn’t go as we planned.
Chadwick Boseman was no different. As most people now know, not only did Boseman play Black Panther, and other roles like, Jackie Robinson, James Brown, and Thurgood Marshall while undergoing numerous cancer therapies for phase III and IV colon cancer. Boseman is an example of, how we as people, can have the capacity and courage to push through some of the most challenging moments of our lives when we have purpose.
This leads me to the first tenet of ACP Coaching, action. We must see our bigger purpose and hold onto it in order to find the courage to take action. Not only was Boseman known for his action on screen, but we now know the action he had taken off the screen.
Many times people lose courage in the face of difficulty and fear, but the truth is that they haven’t found the bigger purpose to keep courage intact for taking action. Chadwick Boseman was a person who embodied the tenets of ACP Coaching. The next time you find your courage waining remember your purpose. And if you haven’t found one yet, now is the time to begin your search.
Thank you for spillin it with me,
